Pressford Safety | Times Square

Pressford Safety | Times Square

Pressford Safety Services, a safety and maintenance at height specialist, used 330Lm of our Rhinorail Freestanding System for their project at the Times Square Building on Queen Victoria Street, London.

The freestanding rail allows for full flexibility of design, as there is no need to drill into any structures. The quick and easy install meant the building had a suitable roof safety system set up in minimal time, with no noise disruption, thanks to the zero drill requirements of the railings.

Held fast by the 20kg counterweights, the continuous freestanding system covered the entire perimeter of the roof, using a mixture of 90 deg swept bends and variable elbows to suit.

The roof had a pre-installed cradle track which in some areas ran very close to the roof edge. This didn’t stop the system being installed continuously as the components that make up the freestanding kit can be easily manoeuvred into place.

The full perimeter system ensures that maintenance contractors accessing the roof can carry out surveys and repairs wherever necessary and know they are 100% protected from any falls or injury.

Rooksby Roofing | Boole Technology

Rooksby Roofing | Boole Technology

The next showcase comes from Rooksby Roofing Ltd with their unique project at Boole Technology Centre in Lincoln.

Alongside 90Lm of Freestanding Rhinorail, Rooksby also commissioned a Custom Step-Over Unit. These units are designed to allow easy access between roof levels without compromising on personal safety. Previously, the separate roof levels would have been inaccessible between each other, unless using a ladder. Working at height regulations stipulate you must reduce the risk wherever possible, and a ladder on a rooftop is definitely a risk that can be mitigated with the use of a step over unit.

Rooksby also made the railings suit the building and surrounding area by powder coating each component in Anthracite Grey (code RAL 7016). This adds to the sleek and professional appearance of the railing system, and allows it to blend seamlessly with the rest of the building.

Fall Protection Solutions | Sheffield Children's Hospital

Fall Protection Solutions | Sheffield Children's Hospital

Sheffield-based customers Fall Protection Solutions Ltd worked on a recent project at Sheffield Children's Hospital, creating a safe roof solution for anyone requiring access for maintenance.

Using 70Lm of Rhinorail Rivet Fixed components, a rail was created around the edge of the Kingspan KS1000LP metal sheet roof. The fixed system meant a safe, permanent rail could be installed, including corner areas which adhered to all mandatory regulations for roof safety.

The Rivet Fixed Guardrail System comes in two options. The first option is a universal base plate which has holes to suit most of the commonly used metal sheet roofs such as Kingspan’s KS1000RW and TATA’s Trisomet 333. The second option which Fall Protection Solutions used in this project are our custom, made to order base plates which can be made to suit any dimensions required.

Gravity Solutions | Project Manchester

Gravity Solutions | Project Manchester

Gravity Solutions, a height safety specialist installation company, used 110Lm of our Rhinorail Freestanding System for their project in Manchester.

The freestanding rail allows for full flexibility of design, as there is no need to drill into any structures. The quick and easy install meant that the building occupants had a suitable roof safety system set up in minimal time, with no noise disruption, thanks to the zero drill requirement of the railings.

Held fast by the 20kg counterweights, with additional weights on the free ends for added safety, the Rhinorail Freestanding System allowed Gravity to create sections of roof areas to determine access around fragile structures such as skylights.

In order to allow access, a self-closing spring loaded gate was installed, adding additional safety elements without compromising ease of access for maintenance and repair work.

By installing the Rhinorail edge protection system it ensures that any person with access to the roof is always 100% protected from any falls or injury.
